Total E'Clips website case study
LiveA web-design and local-SEO build for a Cache Valley client
Built by Caden Sorenson · Launched April 2026
The project
Total E’Clips is a long-running local business that had been around for over forty years with no website at all. The organizing detail for the build: there is no front desk, so the site had to route each visitor to a specific direct contact rather than to a generic main line. Everything on the page follows from that constraint.
The build
A single-page responsive site that gives the client a real online presence and sends each visitor to the right direct contact. The 2026 redesign restructured the page around those direct links, which the first version had buried behind a “Call to Book” modal. Pull the useful thing to the front, drop the modal.
Key features
- Direct-contact cards with
tel:links, the spine of the page rather than a footnote - Verbatim Google reviews naming the reviewer, alongside the client’s 4.9 rating
- Cache Valley service-area section covering Logan, Hyde Park, Richmond, Providence, and the rest of the valley
- Local-business JSON-LD with per-person employee entries, aggregate rating, and an FAQ block
- Sourced operating details: only claims the reviews and public listing actually supported
- Scroll reveals via IntersectionObserver that respect
prefers-reduced-motion, with content never hidden behind JavaScript - Embedded map and click-to-call links, with no unmonitored contact form
Design
The direction is called “Totality.” The client’s name is an eclipse pun, so the page is built from an eclipse’s two states: a dark hero with a gold-rimmed disc of light rising into it, then a bright page below. The palette comes from the client’s own storefront sign, a deep maroon board with cream serif lettering, rendered as an oxblood-black (#1E1216) against a corona gold (#E8B44C). Type is Fraunces over Karla. Everything lives in CSS custom properties, so the whole theme moves from one place.
Build log: building a client site in three files, no framework.

More about Total E'Clips
- Behind the build Building a Client Site in Three Files, No Framework A local business had gone four decades without a website. I built one in three files of vanilla HTML, CSS, and JS, then redesigned it around how the shop works.
- From the blog Building a Single-Page Client Site, Mostly by Prompting Claude A local client had an Instagram and no website. I gave Claude the prompt, the real details, and a style direction, and it built three files. Content was harder.

- From the blog Building a Local-SEO Site for an Age-Restricted Shop, in Code This Time After rebuilding one AI-builder client site in code, I built this one in Astro with Claude from day one: a clean local-SEO site for an age-restricted retailer.
