Photographers

Websites for photographers in Cache Valley.

A photographer's website has to show large images fast without running up a hosting bill, and it has to rank for more than your name. We build portfolio sites for Cache Valley photographers that serve resized images from low-cost storage, keep full-resolution originals private, and add the written pages search engines need, since they can't read a photo. Private client galleries are available as a custom add-on.

What a photography website needs

Photography sites have an odd problem: you sell images, and search engines and AI assistants mostly read text. A gallery-only site with no words ranks for your name and not much else. It needs enough plain writing, the sessions you offer and where you shoot, for a search engine to know what you do.

Big images, small pages

Originals stay in storage. Visitors get a version resized for their screen, so a gallery loads on a phone without shipping the full-resolution file.

Words next to the pictures

A short page for each type of session you offer, written plainly, gives search engines something to rank beyond your name.

Hosting that doesn't punish traffic

Image-heavy sites on the wrong host get expensive when a gallery gets shared. Storage with no egress fees keeps the bill flat.

How we build it

For a portfolio we keep the page count small and the images large: a home page with your best work, a page per session type, an about page, and contact. Most of the engineering goes into the images. We store each original once and resize it on the fly, so you upload one file and the site serves the right size everywhere.

If you deliver finished work online, we can build private client galleries too: hidden from search, opened with an unguessable link, with full-resolution downloads. That's a custom project quoted up front, since it goes beyond a marketing site.

A photography site that costs almost nothing to run

Brittny Ann Photography

Brittny Ann Photography is a new, part-time business in the Logan area, so running cost mattered as much as looks. We built it on Next.js 15 and Cloudflare. Originals sit in a private R2 bucket with no egress fees, Cloudflare Images resizes them on demand, and a new gallery appears when a folder of photos lands in storage. Public galleries are watermarked and view-only, while private client galleries open with a share code and allow full-resolution downloads.

Getting named when customers ask AI

An AI assistant can't look at your portfolio. It reads the words around it, so session pages and schema are what let it describe what you shoot and where.

Frequently asked questions

Do photographers need SEO?
If you want bookings from people who do not already know you, yes. Search engines read text, not photos, so a photography site needs written pages for the sessions you offer and where you shoot, plus alt text on images and LocalBusiness schema. Without that it mostly ranks for your name.
How do I keep hosting costs low for a photography website?
Store originals once in storage that does not charge for bandwidth, such as Cloudflare R2, and resize images on the fly for each screen. That is how the Brittny Ann Photography site runs at close to zero cost.
Can clients download their photos from my website?
Yes, with a private gallery system. Each client gets an unguessable link to their gallery, hidden from search engines, with full-resolution downloads through short-lived links. It is a custom build quoted separately from the monthly plans.
Should a photographer use Squarespace or a custom website?
Squarespace is a reasonable place to start. A custom site makes sense once image speed, hosting cost, or client delivery start to matter, or when you want pages that rank for more than your name. Our comparison of Wix, Squarespace, and custom sites walks through the tradeoffs.
