Dill the Menace
LiveA dark, violet-accented DJ website for a Cache Valley producer and event DJ
Built by Caden Sorenson · Launched August 2026
What is Dill the Menace?
Dill the Menace is the stage name of Dillon Lundahl, a DJ and producer based in Smithfield, Utah. He plays everything from dubstep and bass to house, hip-hop, and Top 40, covering club nights, weddings, private parties, corporate events, and school dances across Cache Valley and beyond. The site needed to do three things: let potential clients hear his sound, show that he is a real, experienced DJ with professional equipment, and make it easy to book.
The Build
This is a custom Astro 5 static site styled with Tailwind CSS v4, built in code with Claude. A single site.json file holds all business and content data, and every component reads from it.
Key technical decisions:
- Single source of truth. One
site.jsonfile feeds every section and the structured data, so the business name, phone, service area, and FAQs can never drift between the page and the JSON-LD. - Lazy-loaded SoundCloud embed. The Listen section uses IntersectionObserver to defer loading the SoundCloud iframe until the visitor scrolls to it, keeping the initial page load fast.
- Structured data for local search. LocalBusiness, Person, WebSite, and FAQPage JSON-LD give search engines the DJ’s location, service area, and FAQs in machine-readable form.
- Dark violet theme. The palette is a near-black base with violet (
#a855f7) accents pulled from the blue and purple stage lighting in his photos. Syne for display headings and Space Grotesk for body text. - Full-bleed hero with image background. A photo of Dillon behind the decks with blue stage lighting fills the hero, with the headline, tagline, and booking CTA overlaid.
- Eight-image gallery. Photos from live sets and sessions, giving potential clients a feel for the energy and professionalism of a Dill the Menace event.
